Hi everyone :) I'm new here, although I was a member before. I had a hamster about 2 years ago named Rufus, but he died :( I never thought that I would go back to hamsters again because I didn't want to have to go through the death of another one, but my fiance and I just bought a new Syrian hamster, and we named her Daisy.
Well, we've had Daisy for a little over a week and already she escaped from her cage. This was my fault, because I forgot to lock the hatch to one of her doors :( Luckily, we found her in the heater vents on the floor in the dining room. It took awhile, but we were finally able to catch her.
She seems fine, just a little spooked. I did notice, however, that one of her eyes is all red around the rim. It looks like little hamster pink eye. I'm pretty sure that it's blood. I'm not sure if it's just irritation from the dust in the heater, or maybe I hurt her when I tried grabbing her to catch her.
Either way, should I be worried? I'm very concerned and not sure what to do. I was just wondering if anyone here could give me a tip or something on what to do about this.
Thanks!
