Today my mom and I watched “The Illusionist.” My mom tried to tell me that Edward Norton was dead. While I vehemently denied that this could be true, citing that the movie had just come out this year (well, 2006) and that certainly I would have heard if such a noteworthy actor died, my mother argued that it “happened recently” and that I “never hear the news.” I was understandably perturbed throughout the whole film, and rushed to check the internet when it was over. Of course, Edward Norton is very much ALIVE. I may not know about the latest happenings in Iraq, or which nations are at war. I don’t even really know what that whole Darfur thing is. But I’d know if Edward Norton kicked it.
