1.
The moment Ryutaro opened his door, Chinen collapsed against him. Caught unawares, Ryutaro stumbled back slightly from the weight of the other boy. "C-chinen-kun? What happened?"
It was then he noticed Chinen was breathing heavier than normal, almost heaving and his body's temperature was burning up. Worriedly, he pressed a hand up to Chinen's forehead and felt its heat even before he made contact.
"Ryu-chan..." Chinen's voice sounded weak as he tried to push himself up to a standing position. Instead, he swayed dangerously and had to hold onto Ryutaro's shoulders for support.
"You're an idiot, you know?" Ryutaro told him sternly as he cradled Chinen's body in his arms and picked him up.
"I-I know..." Chinen coughed, clutching Ryutaro's collar tightly as he did so. He pressed his cheek against Ryutaro's shoulder, the heat seeping through the fabric and into his skin. "S-sorry..."
Sighing, Ryutaro gave his forehead a brief peck before taking the older boy into his room, mentally preparing himself for the long hours of nursing him back to health.
2.
"Ryu-chan, stop! I-I'm dizzy!" Chinen clung onto Ryutaro for dear life as the younger boy laughed evilly and spun around in circles faster.
When he tried to stop though, the world swayed beneath his feet and Ryutaro lost his balance, toppling onto Chinen's bed. The older boy fell on him, knocking the breathe out of him. "Oof!"
"Don't you d-dare do that again," Chinen muttered furiously, trying to sit back up but failing as he got disorientated. He closed his eyes, hoping it could somehow help his stomach settle down. A finger lightly stroked his bangs and he blinked to see Ryutaro way too close to him.
"You're cute with a mad face, Chii," Ryutaro teased, pinching his cheeks where a blush was rising.
"Shut up." Chinen swatted his hand away irritatedly. It didn't help matters when he realized he was lying across Ryutaro's chest; he thought his poor heart might stop when the other boy leaned in to kiss him on the nose.
Dang it, why was his boyfriend so evil?
3.
"Hey, R-ryutaro-kun?" Chinen gulped nervously as Ryutaro tilted his head curiously at him. Dang, why did the younger boy have to look so cute? "D-do you like me?" Great, he could feel the blood rushing up to his face. He shifted nervously on the other boy's lap, waiting for the response.
"Of course I like you. Aren't friends suppose to like one another?" Ryutaro smiled at him reassuringly, but Chinen felt his heart plummet.
"Oh yeah, that's true..." Blinking, Chinen looked down so Ryutaro wouldn't see his forming tears. Why did his best friend have to be so clueless? It had taken him forever to gather the courage to confess, but he suppose he should have known...
"Morimoto-chan, can I marry you?" 7 year old Chinen asked with a cute smile, pulling at the front of the other boy's shirt.
"Why?" 5 year old Ryutaro wondered, getting annoyed since he thought his new shirt was going to rip.
The older boy pouted as he was pushed back. "B-because I l-like Morimoto-chan!" he admitted with red cheeks. "D-does Morimoto-chan like me?"
"Chinen-nii's my best friend. Of course I like him!" Ryutaro stated as though this were an obvious fact. Then he got hungry and wandered off to look for cookies to steal.
Chinen followed slowly after, trying his best to keep his tears from flowing. "That's not what I meant..."
People are supposed to learn from their mistakes, but not Chinen. He thought maybe after all these years, Ryutaro had come to realize Chinen's feelings for him.
The younger boy was always so sweet to him, it just ended up leading him on wrongly. When Chinen asked him to hold his hand, Ryutaro intertwined their fingers together. When Chinen wanted a hug from him, he wrapped his arms around his shoulder and held him close. When Chinen climbed onto his lap, he ruffled his hair and let him snuggle.
"Chinen? Chinen, what's wrong?" Ryutaro's concerned eyes pierced him to the core of his soul.
"N-nothing. N-nothing w-wro-" Chinen's words broke off with a small hiccup as the tears streamed down his face. "I-I'm okay, s-sorry."
He tried to wipe his eyes with the back of his hand. Ryutaro got to his feet and Chinen felt his stomach lurch as he was picked up as well. Panicking, he threw his arms around Ryutaro's neck, worried he would be dropped. "R-ryutaro-kun?" Chinen's heart beat fast in his chest and he felt his blush come back as he found himself staring at Ryutaro's lips.
Instead of answering, Ryutaro took him out of his room and Chinen saw they were headed for the restroom. He was set down gently on the toilet seat and handed a small towel. "Here, don't cry, Chinen. Your eyes will get all puffy."
Chinen forced himself to take it with a smile. "Thanks, Ryutaro-kun."
"No problem. What else are best friends for?" Ryutaro took a seat next to him and stayed next to him until he stopped crying.

It was the day after Christmas and they had just finished their last concert for the year 2010. Everyone was cheering and clapping one another on the back for a job well done. Cleaning up after themselves always took a long time.
Somehow, all their things managed to disappear mysteriously in the two hours they spend scrambling back and forth between the stage and the dressing rooms. Ryutaro was tearing the place apart trying to locate his precious DSI. He threw someone's jacket over his head to see if he could uncover the game console.
From behind, Inoo shrieked as the jacket covered his head and Daiki exclaimed, "Hey! That's mine!"
Ryutaro turned his head in time to see the youngest BEST member hopping furiously to reach his jacket, which Inoo was evilly keeping just out of his reach. "Has anyone seen my DS?" he asked, but in the chaos, no one heard him.
Grumbling, he got down to his feet to check below the chairs and tables. Some hours later, after their manager finished lecturing them about making a mess of everything and Takaki discovered quite painfully Ryutaro's DS hiding innocently in his hat (no one knew how it got there), they were ready to go home.
Automatically, Ryutaro turned to ask Chinen if he wanted to sit together on the van only to find the older boy was nowhere in sight. "Hey, where's Chinen?"
Yamada, the one standing closest to him, was the only one who heard and merely shrugged. "Did he go up ahead already?"
Ryutaro frowned. That didn't sound like Chinen, who usually hung back to cling on him. Nevertheless, he still weaved his way up front to where Yabu was laughing at some joke Hikaru told. "Yabu-kun, do you know where Chinen is?"
It some time before Yabu could stop guffawing long enough to answer him. "Chinen? No, haven't seen him. He's not with you?"
This was beginning to get worrisome. Ryutaro shook his head, his stomach fluttering anxiously. "I'll go back and look for him." He took off running before anyone could stop him.
The halls were strangely quiet and echoed with his footsteps. He did a quick check in the restroom but all the stalls were empty. When he poked his head into the dressing room, he had to sigh and smile.
Chinen was curled up on the couch, sleeping soundly. He was almost camouflaged by a large blanket Ryutaro recognized as one they borrowed from the staff. No wonder no one saw him.
Quietly, Ryutaro went over and shook him gently. "We're going home, Chii. Wake up, or else you'll be left behind."
In response, Chinen pulled the blanket up over his head. "Five more minutes..." His groggy voice was muffled.
"Fine, no choice then." Ryutaro rolled his eyes and tugged the blanket off the older boy before scooping him up in his arms. Instinctively, Chinen snuggled closer towards him, burying his head against Ryutaro's chest. "Come on, sleepyhead, let's go home."

Dance rehearsal was going smooth as usual. The instructor was yelling at Ryutaro for not paying attention, Keito was doing his best not to trip over his own feet (or anyone else for that matter), and Yabu was trying to get everyone else to focus on the dance. It was hard, especially since Hikaru decided to pull another prank on Daiki, who was now fuming and being held back by Inoo.
Takaki wasn't helping matters, as he was laughing at his fellow BEST members but they were all interrupted by a sudden crash off to one side. Every head turned to see Keito and Chinen's crumbled form on the floor. Apparently the latter got bored and started to do backflips but accidentally hit Keito.
"Keito! Chii, are you two okay?" Yuuto ran over to them worriedly while Yabu and the instructor started telling BEST off for laughing.
Keito nodded and stood up, apologizing over and over again. "I'm sorry, Chinen, I didn't see you there."
"It's fine," Chinen gave him a strained smile. "Don't worry, I'm okay." He tried to stand up but sat back down with a gasp.
"You don't look okay," Ryutaro commented dryly, finally managing to escape the wrath of their instructor. "Your ankle looks twisted, let's get you to the infirmary."
"What? No! I'm fine, really! It's not a big deal!" Chinen started a mini fight with Ryutaro, trying to keep the younger boy off him. "Stop being a worrywart, Ryu-chan!"
"Excuse me?" Ryutaro raised an eyebrow and Chinen felt his face grow warm at the look the younger boy was throwing him.
"Chinen, listen to Ryutaro," Yabu cut in. The rest of BEST were having a time out in the corner and the four older boys were muttering darkly with each other while giving Yabu dirty glances. "Sensei told us to take a break anyways, go find some ice and put it on before your ankle swells too much."
The 7 member's pout quickly turned to one of surprise when he felt himself being lifted.
"You heard Yabu-kun, don't you try to worm out of what's good for you." Ryutaro had slipped one of his arms under Chinen's legs and the other one was supporting his back.
"Wait, wha? Ryu-chan, put me down!" Chinen thought he might die from embarrassment but Ryutaro just smirked at him, obviously enjoying his torment.
"You can't even stand, let alone walk," Ryutaro retorted. "Besides," he added once they were out of earshot from the other JUMP members, "don't pretend you're not enjoying this."
Chinen blushed madly as Ryutaro pressed his soft lips between his brows.
