You can name the Vulpix Gin! He's a person I know from home who's like a fox. He even looks like Vulpix a bit.

[Hello, allow her to go off topic forever.]

Gin...that's a Japanese word, isn't it?

Sort of? He wrote it Katakana so his name has no real meaning, truth be told.

[ That honestly felt like someone punched her in the stomach, however she doesn't visibly react to her panning of him ]

So, what did your normally name your pokemon after anyways? Maybe I can help you find another name!

I normally name them after figures in mythology or people in books. Like my Pidgeot is named after the protagonist in my favorite book and my Houndoom is named Kali.

Hm... I think I can find something for you in Shinto Mythology, if you'd like?

Let's see, Vulpix is fire and you can call it Kagutsuchi, named after the Kami for Fire.

Lapras can be Susanou, the kami of storms and the sea annnnnd, Gonryomaru for the electric. It's not the kami for electric, but it does mean the Kami for energy. [ she's lying, she's lying she's really really lying. For the last part at least! She's just naming it after a zanpakutou that can use tons of electricity ]
