[So Maka missed recording the evolution of her Pidgey since it pretty much snuck up on her. THIS TIME she's ready though and caught the evolution of her Houndour into a Houndoom on the 'Gear. Obviously she had to do this FOR SCIENCE...or maybe just playing it back to see if she could spot something to figure it out because evolution, how does it ( Read more... )

Because everything's about competition and penises.

...Is that actually the plural? Or would it be penii? I admit, I've never really thought about it.

But on a separate note, that's a rather interesting specimen. It looks like a dog. A very, very big dog.

[Just. Just going to ignore the penis mention there.]

R-right, Professor, this is Kali, she's the Pokemon I started out with--a Houndoom. She used to be smaller as a Houndour, but--[waving at her to indicate the size change]--now she's almost as tall as I am, aha.

[Stein would usually push Maka to answer his BURNING GRAMMATICAL QUESTION but she seems to be in A Mood so he's just going to let that one slide.]

Kali? Your feminist overtones never cease. It looks sort of like a great dane. Maybe you could get around faster if you rode around on her back or something.

Though more importantly, why are you bothering to give it a name? They're just animals. Some less so than others. What's the point in getting attatched?

[Going to ignore the feminist overtones comment too--OH STEIN--but makes a note of the idea of riding Kali for later.]

I gave her a name--when she was a Houndour, of course--because Pokemon have multiples of a given species. I thought it'd be confusing to just refer to her as "Houndour" when there are other Houndours around. It's kind of like just calling your dog "Dog" you see.

I see. So every time I call my thing... "My thing" [or "Magnetmite" when he's trying to at least remember its name] I'm really just calling it by the species name. Maybe I should give it a real name before it electrocutes me in my sleep...
