with america's favorite black guy Marx and the entire citizenry of North Korea. They encourage you to send food. Now.
The Fourth of July weekend was, well, it was. The weather didn't cooperate at all. It went as follows:
9 AM: Hey, it's gonna be a nice day, sunshine, slight wind, good times.
12 Noon: Still good, little cloudy, blocking the sun a bit, still good times.
1 PM: Little drizzle, blow over soon. Kinda seeing the sun a bit.
2:30 PM: Hey, it's clear again! Back outside! Yay!
3:30 PM: Oh no, it's raining. To the cars!
3:45 PM: Holy fuck, it's raining sideways!
Then rain, light rain, clear, every hour on the hour. South Georgia weather. Can't beat it!
As you can guess, the weather wasn't too kind to outdoor bartending. The 4th itself wasn't bad, but the day after was killer, and we didn't open. I was ok with that, specifically because of the fact that all three bar managers were fucked-in-half drunk and Tommy Twotone, Drew, Stephen, and I got the task of cleaning the bar. I'm sorry. I misstated, what I meant was we had the job of clearing the LZ. Yes, it was that bad. Hopefully, there will be a meeting this week, and heads will roll. People need to be looking for jobs.
Rugby practice this weekend, twas a blast, and felt really good. There was a little fatigue, but it was gone for the second wind. I took the day off from the gym, partly because the tetanus shot was looming at 8AM, and I had no clue how I was going to feel, or if they were going to tell me not to do anything too drastic, and partly because the production at the radio station was getting large.
The weekend ended sooner that I would have liked, due to the 8AM tetanus shot I had at the Health Department to get back into school. That was an experience, and I took two things from that: one, that they no longer give you the shot in the low hip, thank god, and two. that needle's just as big as I remember. I've always wondered why I don't flinch at taking on guys that outweigh me by a buck fifty in the pitch, yet I flinch at needles. Eh, who knows? All I know is that I'm back in school now, and with the new laptop, things are looking up.
[segue - new laptop, apple macbook pro, ramed out, everything, all the bells, whisles, and missles are on this one. fuck yeah.]
So things are going pretty well. some new gear, new decisions, and calmer home.
And the fact that all of my female friends are having kids. You know what that means, don't you?
More pictures of Marx with babies! What's not to love about that? [pax. transend.]
