History Lesson

The move in had gone smoothly enough, and Hans was beginning to spend more and more time at Ali's--their--home.  Spending time with the children, telling stories, sitting through teaparties, looking at bugs, helping to build model planes, and all manner of other activities, as well as making plenty of time to spend with his beloved.

He was also, little by little, getting caught up to the modern world.  Time in the Nexus has taught him some basics of computer operation, and he was also learning of such wonders as the microwave.

On top of all that, he was reading quite frequently, usually history books of various stripes, getting caught up on the decades he would be missing.  Granted, Ali's world was not his own, but the history was similar enough to be significant.

On the other hand, there seemed to be a period in history he was missing out on, the years directly following his own time and the next few decades beyond.  When they had merely been a couple, this was understandable, but now, they had agreed it was time to learn that which he was possibly not meant to know.

The point of no return?  Or the beginning of a grand new adventure?
