tell me about your favorite charity!
Since I've been promoted and gotten a bit of a raise, I would like to pick a few charities to sustain with small monthly donations through my newfound largesse (heh). There are so many worthy charities out there, though, that I'm feeling a little overwhelmed at researching them all. So, I'm throwing this out to friends who likely share a similar outlook to mine. Do you have a favorite cause? Tell me about it!
In the past I have donated to the ACLU, Oxfam America, Red Cross USA, Noah's Wish, the Mukhtar Mai Women's Welfare Organization, the DNC, the Green Party, MoveOn.org, the Marijuana Policy Project, some individual political candidates, and probably some other groups I can't recall at the moment. I'm very interested in supporting women's rights and welfare, human rights and social justice, animal welfare, and the like.
