upping the activity on Sunday

We got out of the house on Sunday. For all that it was motivated by needing to visit the Mt. Auburn walk-in clinic, we did stay out for a while to get a few things from the store, have dinner at Pizzeria Uno, and see The Ego and the Oracle, which was graced with a reasonably full house and good energy, if not by cthulhia wearing a corset. :)

Also, we managed to straighten up the living room to some degree. Now I just have to make some sense of my room. I hate cleaning, but recovery from surgery will be nicer if I don't have to step over all kinds of crap to get to my bed, closet, shelves, or window. Fortunately, with this week's weather looking reasonably nice (in the 70s), we shouldn't also have to clean up Trowa's room to let my mom sleep in there. If it were going to be very hot and humid, I wouldn't want to make her sleep on the sofa bed in the living room without benefit of A/C.

It turns out that my surgery will be on an outpatient basis. Mom is skeptical and annoyed by this prospect. I'm of two minds, myself. On the one hand, when you have a body part removed, shouldn't that entitle you to at least one night in the hospital for observation? On the other hand, the last time I had surgery I never slept for more than half an hour at a time because the bed was so uncomfortable and because they kept waking me up for shots and stuff, and I ended up with a fungal skin infection that took three weeks of oral diflucan and topical antifungal cream to kill off, and more and more hospitals are having issues with drug-resistant beasties, so I'm not exactly anxious to spend lots of time in the hospital if I don't have to. Hmm.
