on the one hand, i applaud ut austin for having such a cheap application fee (a mere $50), and such a streamlined online application
on the other hand, i curse ut austin for having me send different stuff to THREE DIFFERENT PLACES. you'd think they'd have one centralized location where all this crap goes. nope. i have to send transcripts to the main graduate admissions center. i have to email my statement of purpose and writing sample to some random person's email address. and then i have to send my 3 letters of recommendation to the history department. madness.
i bet part of the decision of whether to admit graduate students or not is based on whether people can follow all these crazy little complex rules and requirements. arr. undergrad is so much more streamlined.
well, i'm all set for my biography presentation. good glory, i can't wait until it is over and done with. having to present gives me knots at the bottom of my stomach. arg.
so i actually do have my 3 recommenders lined up. i knew ahead of time that i should send them a copy of my statement of purpose (yet to be written), but one of my recommenders wants a cv (resume type thing) as well as a draft of my thesis! WHICH I HAVENT STARTED WRITING YET. good gracious.
THE FUN DON'T STOP.
... and i don't have class until 1. what am i doing sitting in the library? the things i do for parking.
statement of purpose. gooooo NOW.
