Interesting..
Don't know what he/she gone through to make assumptions like that, but the furry fandom is what you make of it yourself.
Every single one is different, and aside from that..Everyone is fully aware they are in reality "human" and especially things in msn/chat conversations are just for fun rather then seeing it as reality or any such nonesense.
About all furs have normal lives ,sometimes very succesfull, and some are even married with children or in healthy relationships.

It's true that furry is commonly related to certain fetishes that is rather offensive to many of the general public, but this is only true for a minority inside the furry fandom and has nothing to do with being a fur per definition.
(And even those who do have some bizzare fetisches which are not my cup of tea, they excist outside the furry fandom just as much as inside. In fact they may even be more outside then in)

I just wish people would get a more clear definition of the furry fandom put in their heads and saw that it's also possible for people to have more then one fetish or fandom they belong too.
I mean, it's like saying those in the star trek fandom can NEVER be in any other fandom like, for example, the star wars fandom or x-files.
One who is fan of tails, can just as easily also be into pokemon, final fantasy or roleplaying.

Also, you can have a fetisch for somethign even without being inside a specific fandom as well..
So generalising the fandom is simply a fact of ignoring the excistance of other variables, which will result in messed up statistics that don't proof anything.
