Hey all I haven't updated in a while. Classes are off to a decent start.
~My Calculus class (Dr. Cosgrove) is going very well so far, the 2nd time thru is definitely much easier lol. Doing my homework last night i killed this big limit problem, I had to split it up into a 5 limit fraction all raised to the 3rd power and i fuckin got it right!
~Pre-Calculus is going fine, I started off in Barry Light's class but i dropped it for Stassen again. Instead of MW 930-1045 it's now Thurs night 6-8:30 but thats not too bad. I'll need to work at some of the basic things that are haunting me from the past and then hopefully I'll be able to move on permanently.
~I got into Intro to Secondary School Teaching, the class has only met once but the professor seems very down to earth and cool, I've heard good things about her. (Dr. Terri Thomas)
~Intro to Geography may suck, I've heard that the Prof. is a nice lady but rather all over the place when it comes to her teaching style, which so far seems true, but I think I'll do okay, just probably gonna take some work. (Prof. Dauphinais)
~Physical Science I is pretty cool, Prof. Dignam is a good guy, he knows his stuff, he's a retired High School teacher. I think I'm going to enjoy his class.
~Mr. LaCava wants me to join the band again this year but my pre-calculus overlaps in time and pre-calculus is exponentially more important. He does want to try and work something out though so we'll see what happens, i said i didn't want to but i think deep down i really kind of do want to.
~Anyone else notice how some people get everything handed to them and some have to work their asses off just to barely make it. A good friend of mine is off to a great start at school, he has a huge loan and financial aid and I'm sure his mom is helping him in some way and he's going to a beachhouse with his new friends and everything next weekend, now don't get me wrong I'm happy for him and all. Also at school there are a lot of people that don't really have to do anything, they go to school and maybe play a sport but they don't have to work, they just get everything handed to them. Whereas some of us, like me, have worked for everything they have, and we've worked out asses off for it. Granted now that I have $100 to my name, period, mt parents are helping me with my car insurance, but they aren't paying for it entirely or anything, and I pay for school on my own, with the money I make from the 5 jobs I had this summer. I can't really complain too much since I did get more help from my parents this semester, but I don't expect anything from them and I'm paying them back for everything except for car insurance and I would but they don't want me to. But my point is that me, and many of my friends here, have worked very hard to get here, and continue to work hard so we can afford to continue to go here because our parents don't make soo much maoney that they can just buy us a car, spend 2200 a year to insure it and drop $12 grand a year on school for us. There are people here that get so much financial aid that they don't even have to pay for their parking permit, and they are driving around in a 2005 Acura RSX, gotta love it. And we drink 40's cuz they are cheap! lol. (i don't very often)
....This wasn't me intending to offend anyone, just me ranting. I love it here, and I wouldn't change me or my situation for anything in the world.
