the question is: What have I been up to? What am I thinking about?

Lately, I've been taking Physics 120 - General College Physics at DVC in Pleasant Hill, CA. My commute is 40-45 minutes to get there. =/

Anyways.. the class is pretty tough. We go really fast.. but the good thing is that I'm cultivating my theoretical thinking skills, cognitive growth involving practical situations.

For example: Why do helicopters require 2 propellers?
Because if they had just the top propeller.. Then the body of the helicopter would continue spinning. The force of the propeller in one direction would cause the mass of the helicopter to move in the opposite direction. So the second propeller on the tail prevents it from moving.. keeps it balanced.

Similarly.. why do shortstops move their hips, when they are throwing the ball, turning double plays?

Because the force of rotation on the top of their torsos causes the bottom half to rotate as well. The forces need to cancel. Equal and opposite directions.

Anyways..

After school.. I've been spending time with Dasel, we eat or talk or something for a couple hours.. then I head home and do homework. I really honestly, feel like I know her. I can't say that about a lot of people I "know". Thats how relationships start and develop by getting to  know people.. straight up.

Thoughts..
Today I wrote the word "Compassion" on my arm, and on Dasel's. It reminds me to constantly think about suffering that people/animals involve themselves with everyday. Just bringing that attitude towards life allows me the oppourtunity to handle the good and bad that life have to offer with an open heart and mind. I am optimistic about coming to the truth that everyone has the capacity to feel  within their hearts.

I don't feel like I'm Catholic. I think to be a true follower, you need to understand and practice the laws of the church to the fullest extent. I myself just choose ideals and practices of the Catholic faith which I myself can utilize in my own life, and will help me live a life that I want to live. Living like the enlightened one himself Jesus. If I were to tell someone about the Catholic faith.. I would tell them to understand the actions and words of Jesus, and try and replicate it.

In other news..

Rookie Ike Diogu scored 37 pts. and had 12 reb. for the warriors summer league team today, in a win against the Phoenix Suns. He only missed two FGs, he is a beast. Monta Ellis suprisingly had 8 asists, which justifies the fact that he is more than capable, and has the potential to play both the PG and SG positions. I'm so excited for our team. Playoffs!

Hope all is well in cyberspace.
Jon
