why does the government have to do anything at all about the so-called mortgage and credit crisis? i may not be a homeowner but what exactly are the banks going to do who loaned money to people who couldn't afford to borrow money to buy houses -- throw them out on the street? then what does the bank get? an empty house and hordes of poor people lining the road, that's what. sounds like a depression to me.
but why does the government have to spend all this money to fix the problem? who pays for the $700,000,000,000? taxpayers, right? and people who buy homes for their families are, generally speaking, taxpayers, right? so how does this shell game actually affect anybody's life? it's so hard to understand. the only real point of reference i have for the whole issue is that george bush really really really thinks this is a great idea, so basically i automatically think it's not. but what do i know?
does anyone care to enlighten me on this one?
