Project Exodus: Book 1, maybe mid chapter

"I want to know exactly what is going on here, and you seem like you have an idea what's up."

Helen Caravaggio simply nodded. "I'll try to answer your questions to the best of my ability".

"Okay, I'll start with my first question." Helen pointed to a green tea cup in front of me.

"Are you sure you wouldn't want a cup of tea beforehand? This may take a while."

Dave looked at the tea cup. It has been a while since he enjoyed a cup of tea with anyone, but he knew that this would be anything but enjoyable. He wasn't going to leave this place without some sort of explaination as to what happened to Steve.

"First of all Dave, whatever I tell you here you shouldn't be telling anyone." Helen then poured her own cup of tea. "In fact, if Janine ever sees me here with you, she'd probably throw a fit..."

"But I thought that you were the leader." Dave took another sip.

"I don't think I would be fit to lead, personally. Janine's more headstrong than I am." She took another sip. "But it's time I should start telling you something about this school, a parallel world, and how it's related to your brother Steven Katzenberg."

---

There are two worlds; one world is parallel of the other. Civilization has evolved quite differently. In this world, humans are able to live and make their lives easier through the use of technology. The other world, humans have harnessed the elements and as a result can manipulate nature as they please.

In the other world, people can put out fires by having it rain. Wind is manipulated so that mail can be delivered in an instant. Harnessing the electricity from storms powers up their buildings. Fire is also another source of energy and we use it to cook our food. The earth and wood elements nourish all life on the world. Each of the six elements brings forth harmony to the world. Steven Katzenberg was supposed to inhabit that world.

"But how can that be so? I remember my mom told me that Steve would come out a few minutes after me"

A slip-up of God. The body of Dave's identical twin and the soul that took on the identity of Steven Katzenberg was not to be. The soul was supposed to be in the paralel world. It is also funny that Dave and Steve are the same person but are supposed to exist in two different worlds.

Apparently someone from Dave's own world far into the future developed technology to access this other world.
