Hey, Ho, Let's go!

Aug 14, 2005 19:35

Ok uhm..it is SUNDAY. The concert was Saturday.. oy.

Well...ok, overall, it was fun, tiring, smelly, smoky, LOUD (loud like..LOUD) and pushy and moshy and silly and stupid and such, but fun yeah.

Hm, well I got ready late, we were getting there for 4:30, as gates were opening at 5:00. Picked up one friend, picked up the other, headed into town, was hm..well we were kinda late but it didn't matter cos I knew we'd be too early. So we eventually got to the place at around 4:40, course they weren't letting anyone in, so we went back to the museum place that was along the way and looked around there until about 5:10 (they had a whole plane!! and it was huge close up..) , then drove back to the place where the concert was.

*trying to remember..oy..*

Well we just waited in the carpark for a friend and her friends, then walked into the place and waited outside the gates for our friend till nearly 6. By now inside the first band was playing..uhm...Boomslang..they didn't sound that great from outside so nothin really. Watched all the really wierd people walk by, everyone was in black and such.

We went inside and uhm... it was loud and such, kinda wobbled around, went up closer to the LOUD stage to see uhm.. Bazodi play, they were uhm..hm.. I dunno, rock I guess, dunno exactly what to call it. I was a little stunned by the loudness, they had neet solos and the lead guitarist looked like uhm, not the part and such. They did a neat cover of Enter Sandman that had everyone happy. And then there was musical interlude as they spent lots of time setting up for the next band. And I can't remember what we did...

Hm I dunno if I can even remember the next band, I think it was... Nash? A band from another country, they kinda played slow music, not many people seemed to like it, but they were good.

Uhm, ok that was 3 bands so far..uhh..then there was another band, uhm...Solomon I think, I really really can't remember what they played...oh wait! They were mostly reggae, not many people liked em either, but they pretty much got into it more than any of the previous bands.

Loud guitars with not so great\well adjusted tones = owie.

Then Skid"Nevely came on and we all went close-ish to the stage (it was plently loud). They played uhm, pretty excitingly, but no one was doing anything where I was standing so I went up in front where everyone was jumping up and down and did the same until I got a stitch in my side, then I just kinda got pushed around alot by everyone who was moshing behind us, and this guy kept leaning on me. And hm..confusing and messy it was. But it was fun, even though It hurt some, and got out alive. They did an almost exact cover of Holiday by Green Day too! Oh yeah, and at the start of their set they did a mario song, with all the wierd noises and stuff. =D

Then uhm...really, I can't remember what we did!!! Aiee.. There was a shoppish place with uh..t shirts and stuff, you know those metallica t shirts and led zeppelin t-shirts that make led zeppelin look like the heaviest metal band in the world. And some rather uhm...graphic ones from some death\doom\black metal bands and such.

There was more stuff, like uhm burgers that smelt horrible when cooking, so I did not eat, uhm, the sea smelt like poo, cos the venue was this kinda dock place. Hum..memory kinda..failing I guess.

There were many uh...DJ take it away-ness between each band cos they took ages to set up and such.

Well after Skid"Nevely were the Competition bands, the 3 bands that were competeing against each other that night. This was the finals, so it was only 3 competeting bands and guestbands and such.

Well up were Hi Life..or Hilife, or HiLife. I can't remember exactly. But yeah, they were pretty good, their guitarist had a PRS! With tremolo! And it was neet, but he played well enough to have one, pretty good soloing and all that. Their DRUMMER sang, which was..slightly odd, because I didn't know who was singing at first really. And, they were good, they had to do several cover songs and some original, I didn't really recognize the covers or the originals, but they did a Toto cover of uhm "Africa" which was rather well done.

I think it was around here that uhm, I met this guy who is trying to form a band, and I'm supposed to be the guitarist, but he couldn't get in touch with me by phone, so I gave him my email, so maybe it might work out. We stood at the side by the sea, next to a tree and a air supported, kinda tall figure advertising guy that I called "God". For the whole of Hilife's set we just kinda danced at the side and headbanged and abused a poor tree that was there. It was fun, but I guess that's why my neck is stiff right now. Course by now we were screaming at the bands and whatever, which is why my throat is gritty feeling and ugh. I think it was here that I saw this girl I kept seeing in Anime City, in the mall and now here, and she came by me and was like what's my name and told me hers and left.

But then Tripped And Falling was on stage, so we waded into the crowd and stuff. They were uhm, not that good. They had two guitarists but you could barely hear either one, the bassist was an old dude who acted like it was the 1980's and the singer was not in tune. They did a cover of Clocks, which was the only cover I recognized because of the out of tune-ness of the singer and the unhear-ability of the guitarists. But some of the music was kinda jump-up-and-down-ish so we did and stuff. Then we left for a bit to get something to drink and come back, and this girl who I guess was a friend of that girl I met came and asked if I knew her and gave me the girl I met's phone number and told me that she said to call her. @_@..oy.

Well then Burn came on, we just stood on the side and danced again, and stuff, they were pretty good too. They did an gooood cover of an Iron Maiden song I can't really remember now, and of a My Chemical Romance song I can't remember either. Their lead guitarist had a green guitar, no shirt and long hair (well alot of people did but yeah.) so he was dubbed Bushman, or Tarzan and such and he was jumping all over the place and getting on and stuff. But they were goood and fun and stuff. And then they were done and on came...

U2 cover band! Called Elevation. They were..I dunno..a cover band. They played alot of songs that went on forever and we just kinda sat by, because by now it was 1AM, and everyone was pretty much burnt out. Being hyper can only take you so far. There was an old white guy in front of us in the crowd who probably really liked U2 and kept jumping up and down and stuff. Guess not too many of the crowd really liked U2 and such, but they played on forever. I wandered around, met a few friends I knew, met the same guys who's band I'm supposed to be guitarist for, they went around asking random people if they drummed. and such. Oh yeah, they dressed like U2 too, the singer had a cowboy hat and sunglasses and the guitarist had the kinda cap thing like "The Edge"..but I don't really know what the rest of the band is supposed to look like. But the bassist just kinda stood there, but he looked sorta old. There were a bunch of uhm...white people jumping up too. (no offense uhm..white peoples, but here is uhm, not very many white people island)...they danced funny, and looked drunk.

So at the end we just kinda sat by "God" and until the results were given. NONE of the competing bands that night won "best" anything all the best keyboardist, guitarist bassist went to bands that were in the semi-finals or such. Tripped and Falling came third. Hilife was second and Burn and bushman won!

Then we hurried out of there fast before traffic built up and everyone rushed to leave. We got stuck a little but it was smooth driving, stopped for KFC at 2AM, dropped my friends come. I came home, bathed and went to BED.

So now I'm...stiff, really tired, my feet are stiff. My neck is stiff. My stomach is stiff. I even had this horrible dream in which I had cramps in one part of my body, and if I stopped it there it would happen in another part of my body and so on. Although I'm not sure it was a dream. I can't tell. I've got some worry-ness about that "Band" thing and those guys I don't really like to be around but want me as guitarist. Some issues with a friend. And this girl I have to call..which I hopefully...will...tomorrow.....

AIE.
