For the past two weeks, I've been on a constant search for a new place to live.  I've got quite a few places that showed an interest in having me live there but most of these places are either too small or have misleading ads.  One of these misleading ads stated that they have a "master" bedroom available but upon a closer look, the room that's available looks like a pantry that was converted into a make-shift bedroom.  But now I have three very good choices to choose from (well, actually 2 and one very good back-up).  And could use some advice on which one to pick.
The first place is renting a large room, furnished room in an large condo.  From this place, I'd have two closets, private bath, great looking furniture (queen bed, armoire, two end tables) and "access to the entire condo".  It's only 8 miles away from work too.  It's located in a real-estate development and in a safe neighborhood with lots of retail stores and shopping areas a mile away.  It's 680 a month (include utilities).  The downside to the place: renting a room with the owner is sorta like being a guest at a stranger's house: you have access to the entire place but it'll feel uncomfortable; it would also be street parking but on a road that is never-heavily traveled; and having guests would be sorta frowned upon.

The second place is located next to the ocean and I'd be sharing a condo with a roommate; one I can definitely get along with and hang with while not at work.  The room is not as big as the first but still comfortable enough and it's not furnished (not a big deal).  I'd have access to the entire place and would be able to do move some things around in the condo and make room for my stuff.  The place is very modern with a recently remodeled kitchen and backyard porch.  The cost is $650 plus utilities ($800/month max).  The downside to this place: it's 16 miles away from work.  I'm so used to being close to work now that anything over 8 miles feels like it's too far.  Heh a bit weird considering I used to travel 30 miles to get to work..

I guess to sum it up, one place is 120 bucks less a month and is closer to work.  But I'd feel like a house-guest more than anything else.  So maybe it'd be worth the extra $$$ for the freedoms of having the entire place..I also had a bit of a fall-out with my best friend, one of my only friends whom I really only hang out with so having a roommate would work out nicely..

Anyone else feel like putting in their .02 cents?
