Now that I feel better after getting everything out.
P3P has been sucking up my life. Everyone who had doubts, wipe all your worries away, the game is different enough from the first one that it shouldn't be hard to find enjoyable. The female protagonist is very, very different from Minato, and doesn't share a lot with him in regards to personality or responses. Awesomely enough, she has s.links with everyone in SEES, including Ken and Koromaru. She also has a lovely s.link with Ryoji. There are very few s.links that are the same-and the ones that are very, very different. There have been slight changes in the battle system-liiiiike being able to change your party members to direct commands so Mitsuru no longer Marin Karins enemies not-to-death. Also, the new Velvet Room attendant, Theo, is probably the most adorable thing in the world. Implications that he was bullied by Elizabeth and Margaret are amazing, plus he's the only one to refer to feMC as a "minx."
Now some spoiler babble.
AHHHHHHHHH this is what I plowed through the game for. Wonderful wonderful. It makes me a little disappointed that Ryoji didn't have an s.link in the first game, I think cultivating a relationship with him was really important to his spot in the story. Not just romantically, but getting attached to him before he realizes what he has to do, and what he is makes the story more dynamic. There are some things, like Ryoji's "I'd like you if you were a boy or a girl" that are a little (and wonderfully) questionable. He falls for the feMC pretty hard right off the bat. So hard, in fact, that Junpei tries to pull him back to reality. There's a lot of his sadface and existentialistic issues that come out during his s.link that are wonderful. Like the talk that you have with him about Junpei and Chidori, and how Ryoji mentions that death happens, and it's just something that should be accepted (and then asks if he's being cold).
So while he fully realizes that being Death isn't something that's fair, it's just something that is. It brings him pain, but in the end, that pain is only due to him having a human heart, and in a lot of ways he cherishes it. I'm reminded of a doujinshi that I read...
Also, thank you, 4chan, now I have Souji x Yosuke doujin for the rest of my life. Time to drown myself in them.
