Greenie has given me A. A is also for awesome.

1. Comment on this post.
2. I will give you a letter.
3. Think of 5 fictional characters whose name starts with that letter and post their names and your comments on these characters in your LJ.

Aang (Avatar the Last Airbender): I cannot think of any reason not to adore Aang. He's a monk, he's cute, and he's twelve. Beyond his childish affections for Katara, and his good intentions to Zuko (even when Zuko's intentions toward him are less than noble), his quest for peace is something I think that everyone can learn from. His idealism and innocence pierce the corruption and the terror of the unbalance that the Fire Nation brings to the world. He is truly the one "hope" in the series for changing the world and bringing people together. I think he's a wonderful role model for audience that the series is geared toward, teaching patience, forgiveness and love.

Alexandra Cabot (Law & Order Special Victims Unit): One of the reasons I love Law & Order is because I really want to believe (despite the unrealistic aspects of it) that there are really people who are like the characters out there. I want to think that there's someone out there truly fighting to prosecute (or at some times, not prosecute) because they feel it's truly right. That there are people who are passionate about justice and helping people, and that it's more than just some sort of self-serving job where someone believes they're above the law.

Anthy Himemiya (Shoujo Kakumei Utena): I guess I say this as an anime fan from my particular time, but Utena is something that everyone should see. Maybe it was the time in my life that I saw it, but I think the movement through adolescence are so wonderfully reflected in this series. Even while Utena is growing, Anthy is waiting and waiting, thinking that she can go no further then what she has become. Then, she blossoms into something else, and the whole thing is just so stunning to watch that I really can't have this list without her.

Asriel (His Dark Materials): The more I think about him, the more I actually sort of liked him. Alison and I had a big discussion about him after I finished the trilogy, and I do think a lot of his actions were reproachful, but there was still redemption for him. I'm going to be superficial and say that the Lord Asriel in my mind is hot. Also, named after the Angel of Death? Huh, huh?

Alita or Gally (Battle Angel Alita or Gunnm): I can get away with this because her English name is "Alita." Erm, anyway. This manga was one of those things that I started reading what feels like centuries ago. I think it was one of those staples that every anime/manga fan had heard of at the time. I think the most interesting thing about Alita is her development without any physical change to her body to show that time has passed. She changes so much between her time in the Scrapyard to her time in Ketheres that I can only say that she turned from a terrorist to a little girl to someone very passionate about those she's close to, and will go to great lengths to ensure their safety (lol breaking into the brain bank lolol). She rejects who she had been, and only moves forward without caring what sort of catastrophe her actions will bring.

note: I was going to do Aya from Tenjho Tenge, but I think what would follow would not only be a ridiculously long explanation of why I love her from specific points in the manga, but I feel that most of you already know why she's amazing. I also contemplated doing Ariel from the Little Mermaid. This is how lame I am!
