Wednesday actually ended up somewhat busy! Had a door-to-door guy ask if I wanted estimates on crap done to the house, so Thursday I have someone coming to give me a quote on paving the driveway, re-roofing, and gutters.
Found a brand new DVD of "Brick" which is an excellent indie film for $6, at K-mart of all places! I actually missed it, stating that there was nothing good on the sale rack. Then Tyler found it and proved me wrong. :P
Sold 2 of my dolls, with someone else saying they'll pay tomorrow for a 3rd. Not too surprising, considering I have really low prices on all of them. The surprising part is that the two who sold, were ones I had up for weeks... not the new ones. I guess adding more dolls helped generate interest. Or maybe in the case of one, it was the $20 price drop. Or maybe it was adding worldwide shipping a couple days ago, since one is going to Poland now. Either way it's good... because I almost hit 40, and I wanted to re-home some before that happens... like when the new guy shows up Thurs or Fri. XD Plus there's the Sphaler dragon feet I had to pay for ($270 after shipping), which I didn't really want to get any more. I first committed a month ago, but there were issues on the seller's end, which really weren't her fault... and she was just so nice that I really didn't want to back out on her. I just could really use the money for today's other project:
Solar garden lights. You can get them 8 for $20 at Walmart, and they're actually really nice compared to the ones I remember as a kid. These are white light, the ones I remember were all yellowy. Not that the new ones light up a huge area either, but they are clearly marking the border of the sidewalk. I want to buy maybe 10 boxes and when I *hopefully* get a permit from the city to put a fence in... sink one into each of the fence posts, or at least into every other post. The idea is to eliminate the need for the motion-sensor floodlight that seems to go off every 20 minutes, and therefore save on our electric bill.
Surprisingly, the batteries actually had a charge out of the box, and all but one are still glowing. The one that is out was dim from the start, so I'm guessing it had less of a charge. The instructions said they'd have to charge 8-12 hours before being usable so I want to see how well the sun charges them for tomorrow night before I invest in buying more.
