First Doll Meet
I went to my first BJD meet on Saturday. I ended up finding a ride just 3 days in advance, so I was psyched!
I was so nervous when I first got picked up that I was actually stuttering. I got to know them better on the ride and my anxiety subsided. When we got to the apartment complex, we discovered the specific apartment number hadn't been posted in the meet thread! So I called Tyler and asked him to post on the forum using my account asking what number, then call us when he got a response.
While we waited, we wandered around a grocery store with our dolls and got a ton of weird looks. It was hilarious! One lady even pointed at my new friend's doll and exclaimed, "Oh my god! It freaked me out!".
Tyler got back to me with the number so we went back. More people arrived shortly after, and we had food and drinks, and played a game which we dubbed "Boob Tree". The name changes after every time you play, depending on what the most memorable phrase is.
Did a little project where we made doll scarves, but had to leave before getting to see the body blushing and face-ups done. I had brought a couple dresses I made that I hadn't been able to sell on DoA. I gave them away, and our host thought they were really well made. She liked them so much, that she came over on Wednesday and did some blushing for me, while I sewed an unfinished dress project she needed done.
So anyhow, it was a blast! Hoping in a few months there will be another one. :)
