After a long absence to convalesce he'll be returning for the last 2 rounds of this year's MotoGP as a wildcard, riding the new Ilmor 800cc bike they've been developing for next season. It'll be good to see how he goes. Everyone else will still be riding the current 1000cc bikes, so it's more of a developmental thing for Ilmor rather than a genuine shot at being competitive, but if McCoy is at full fitness for the start of the next season, and can avoid doing himself any more injuries I reckon he'd be a red hot chance for the championship in '07.
