Today is Friday - tommorrow is Valentines Day. Happy Valentines Day to everybody out thurr.
Lately - Things have been more stable, which is good. I've come to realize that I don't really need certain things to operate normally. There is nothing wrong with indulgence, as long as you can keep control of it. You all know what I'm talking about, and I'll leave it at that.
Lately I've also come to appreciate the influence of Greek & Roman styles on .. pretty much everything you look at in modern-day times. I'll give it to the Greeks when it came to originallity in art (mostly sculpture), but the Romans hold it down when it comes to architecture. One can never really appreciate the beauty of things we take for granted in modern day -- such as what you are sitting on right now - and the post & lintel table your computer moniter is sitting on *RIGHT* now.
This Art History is starting to grow on me. I find it interesting that now I can walk into a museum and fully appreciate the artifacts of the past - It is sort of like learning how to understand another language, and feeling smart isn't all that bad I suppose.
