Here comes Halloween!

Greetings!

I'm counting down to my Day of the Dead - Masquerade wedding reception. We're renting an amazing mansion that used to be a Masonic temple in the heart of Chicago.

Saint candles on high-top and cabaret tables, covered in black linens tied back with a red sash. Bar close to the dance floor, but cushy couches off to the side. Heavy passed apps - no silverware needed for any foodstuff.

Debating between setting out Trick or Treat bags by the front door before midnight, for guests to grab as they leave, or borrowing from pumpkinhead0 's earlier post about folks Trick-or-Treating from table to table.

DIY efforts include a hand-painted mask each guest,  home-printed invitations and Sugar Skull place card holders.

Trying to work in a few of these darlings  ... possibly full of quills and wearing a mask - at the Guest Book table?

I expect to work a number of "covers" into the play list, including the Waston Twin's take on "Just Like Heaven."

So many possibilities!

I'm very interested in hearing from other 2010 Brides and Grooms to Be - what is going really well, and what are you having a time with?

By the way, I'll be wearing Dr. Seuss Chucks under my floor-length ivory gown. They go nicely with my tattoos.
