There is entirely too much drama on LJ today
I declare this a thread of win.
Here I was, about to post about my lack of sleep and missing cell phone (I think I dropped it) when I saw how many problems people hare having. I've made the executive decision to stow my complaints (I'm looking to replace my cell phone anyway for crying out loud, it's elderly and crumbling!) and focus on fun things.
Caleb has been insanely cute the last few days.
I have the jungle gym my Father built for my siblings and I when I was a wee tyke. It's currently disassembled awaiting some maintenance, but before we took it apart Caleb had a few weeks of play time on it.
One day I was sitting on the floor and Caleb was climbing the jungle gym. He reached the top and held out his hand. He said "hi fi!" and waved his outstretched palm in my direction.
I reached up my hand and he slapped my open palm as best he could. My son had just given me a high five! He proceeded to climb back down saying "hi fi!" and "five" until he reached the bottom.
Did I mention it's clear he's the child of rock climbers? There are ladder climbers at daycare. Many of the kids who can climb the ladders will, if they lose their footing, simply drop to the floor. Caleb on the other hand holds on tight with his hands and calmly regains his footing, even if it takes him several seconds to do so. He does the same thing when climbing on the jungle gym at home.
