Bunny Update

Fuzz Face seems to have been doing better this morning. She was still pretty out of it, and while I didn't see the poor girl eat anything, Liz insists she saw the bunny masticating the night she was brought home.

Her tummy is shorn, and she has a row of stitches.

I tried to take her out of her cage this morning. The entire roof of her cage hinges up, so it's easy to gain access. She didn't want to budge, so I lifted the top off her hutch. She darted out, and the moment I put the hutch back, she dove back in and began adjusting the bedding I'd so cruelly disturbed.

A few minutes later, she came out and was sitting in the sun. I scratched her head for a while, and after a good scritching she let me pick her up. I carried her to the bedroom and let her romp on the bed for a few minutes. She woke Liz, and we watched fuzz face perk up and be a normal, curious rabbit again. Liz told me that we're supposed to keep her romp time to a minimum, and that she shouldn't even get out of her cage for a couple days. We concluded this highly controlled, small range experience was OK. Fuzz leaped out of my arms to get into her cage (As usual) but I caught her, and I'm pretty sure she didn't strain anything.

JedLag (AKA BeanBag) is being a stinker. She's grunting at me whenever I reach into his cage, unless I'm presenting treats for him to eat out of my hand. I've been told by his previous owner that this is the way he treated her husband, so Liz and I suspect this is a territorial thing. That said, he is very cut when he gets territorial, especially when he pounces to keep my hands away from his hay. Mind you, this is hay I'd just given him, and my hand is only nearby because I'm giving him more.
