This will shock some people, others will doubt my words.

OK, once and for all. Hell, Michigan is a REAL town. The poor residents get a slew of calls from wise ass "Gee this wold be funny" JDs who call the town all winter long asking if Hell froze over. (It's in Michigan, it always does) I've know about the place for as long as I can remember, as I grew up in Michigan.

The town has a web site at www.hell2u.com

The town history page is a riot. Seems the whole town once conspired to hide the output from a whiskey mill from the feds to avoid taxes on said alcohol.

While I'm at it, here are several other points some New England residents seem confused on:

Contrary to what Radio DJs say, Michigan is NOT a city! Detroit and Michigan are NOT neighboring cities, they are not the "Twin Cities," and they are not different names for the same city. Detroit is a city in the state of Michigan.

The Twin Cities are In Minnesota. Minneapolis St Paul to be exact.

"Alamo" is NOT one of the Twin Cities.

Michigan is not "The Windy City," but yes, it is "cold there too," but only in Winter, early Spring and late fall.

Michigan does not have tundra or permafrost, although we do joke about it.

Detroit is NOT "The Windy City" That's Chicago, which is in Illinois, NOT Canada.

Illinois is not the home of the Detroit Tigers.

Canada does share a border with Minnesota.

Washington is a STATE as well as a city. Not only is it a state, but it's at the other end of the country, in a place called "The Pacific Northwest" NOT the "Deep South next to Georgia and Kentucky."

Seattle is in the state of Washington, NOT Idaho.

Idaho does NOT share a border with California.

Nevada DOES share a border with California.

New Mexico is a state. It is part of the United States. Mexico is a country, New Mexico is a state. Any health care plan that covers "The 48 continental United States" covers New Mexico, but not Mexico.

Alaska and Hawaii are not as close as maps of the US show. You can't measure the distance with a tape measure and guess the actual flying time that way. The dotted lines mean distance was left out of the map!

Yes, Alaska is "Real damn close" to the former Soviet Union.

Alaska actually has a GROWING SEASON! A long one at that. It is not "One worthless slab of ice no one would piss on." It has cities with electricity and running water.

Lemmings do not really commit mass suicide. The Disney documentary portraying the behavior was faked.

The US post office is not really trying to tax e-mail, that too, is a hoax. I don't care if "Mistress Carrie" on some radio show read it as a news item. It just means she's a moron who never checks sources.

Yes, all these tidbits are being stated because someone in New England, (In person, on the radio, even on TV) made the mistakes above.

Thank you, and have a nice day.
