Ten (non-spoilery) reasons why I love New Who.
So, one day in chat with giglet this conversation I said:
halimede: You know what I really, really, really love about new who? How people get to be flawed without it being framed in terms of their gender/ehtnicity/whatever. And conversely brave and stuff re same.
And giglet said:

And then a while later (as in, today) I said
We should do a 'ten (non-spoilery) reasons why I love New Who' meme. By which I meant other people, who aren't way busy and on hiatus from their LJ should. But since this was declared a Good Idea, here we are. And it was difficult to get it down to 10, really. Go look at giglet's too, because I got custody of the Tardis for this one and she got the screwdriver.

7 The Doctor is the hero, as well as the alpha in the group, but he's not ACTIONMAN. (I'm stealing this one for my list, but really Giglet said it.)
6. Visible varied sexual orientation.
5. because the tardis is just the coolest ship ever --it's a disguise!
4. because Rose could kick Buffy's ass --without any special powers.
3. Because Rose gets the coolest, smartest moves.
2. Don't forget the welfare state!
