In the last week and a half I:

~got a new (to me) car (2002 Mitsubishi Galant)
~babysat 4 kids all at once for a whole morning
~found a great new Italian restaurant
~started job #1
~interviewed for and accepted job #2

Job #1 is at the Barto Shell. It’s not that bad, and it’s really close to home. I can get there in about 4 minutes.

Job #2 is with the Boyertown School District. I looked on the website about two weeks ago, and they were hiring for support positions. I had an interview last Friday morning, and got called in the afternoon. The position I got is 7:45-11:45 every morning at Junior High East. And with my degree, I get paid more than the position is listed for. I went in to the district building yesterday to fill out all my paperwork, and got my official district ID badge.

For Labor Day weekend we went up to Ashland. I left Mom at Aunt Linda and Uncle Jack’s, then went to SU. The plan was to catch some former profs during their office hours, and then try to find Chappy and others. It was great to find Bode still in his office. We talked for about an hour and got caught up on the past year and his book that’s coming out in the spring. Though I missed Dr. Jacobson. And Dr. Wei did indeed accept the position with University of Macau. But I did have luck once again when I went in search of Judy White. She was in between her last lesson of the day and Chorale. The list of people visited was topped off by finding Chappy as he walked back to his office from teaching a class.

The rain that started on Friday afternoon didn’t let up until Saturday night made us decide against sitting through the ABA parade. Instead, we all settled into the living room to watch the Penn State game.

I’ve spent part of the afternoon playing with my cell phone. I let my plan run out last August, and since getting home I’ve had to share one with my mom. With both of us now heading out to different places on a daily basis, I decided to sign-up for a new plan. If you want the new number let me know.

Even though it’s only 9:15, it’s time for sleep. I work 6-2 tomorrow. Oh, the joys of having a job again.
