uh, yeah.,....

Finally heard back from the bank this afternoon. Can we guess what the outcome is? C’mon, it’s easy…. the outcome is ‘no job for Rachel’. This job search is getting so frustrating! There are at least 5 places that have not given me any respond to my submitted application, despite my attempts to follow-up. So the lovely bottle of Niagra has been opened, though I had hoped it would be opened in celebration, no consolation. Anyway…

Despite the heat, we got the garage cleaned up pretty well. Yesterday and today the weather was perfect and not a bit humid or oppressive. We even turned off the AC and opened the windows to get nice breezes going through the house. I totaled up our lists, and I sold almost 70$ worth of stuff ($69.60 to be exact). After tithe, the credit card bill that is coming, and the $10 I owe my mom, I have about $28 left. I’d like a job now, please (as long as it’s not a job at Brown Printing…).

Carrie stopped by today and snagged some chopsticks and Chinese slippers.

Tomorrow is Sunday, and I’m kind of glad it is. Sunday is the one day of the week I know that I have plans. Actual plans set in place. Church in the morning, then lunch with Mom and sometimes Grama and Ella, leave at 6:30 for the Bridge, then home by midnight. It’s a schedule, albeit a loose one, but I love it. Every other day of the week the only thing resembling a plan is “get to Go Figure sometime between 3 and 8:30”. Throw in some CSI and knitting for orphans and call it a day.

That is seriously my sad little life…. Kind of explains the lack of posts. That and the fact that only about 4 people read this.

I’m reading this book called ‘Dingley Falls’. I’d put it down for a few days because the plot was getting slow and I was getting more into the other books I had going. But I picked it back up today and got back into it. It’s a bit off, but I like it. It takes place in this moderate sized town in Connecticut. There are various little plot threads running, including a secret government base on leased land, a Vietnamese mail order bride, various town kids coming of age, and someone sneaking about the town leaving dirty poems on the front stoops of houses. It’s kind of like a look at the shady side of a seemingly respectable New England town.
