So, some of you may already know - but Dave and I are engaged. However, tonight, we made it official. After Dave got off work I went to go get a pedicure, because my feet really needed it - and while I was there I decided to "splurge" and get my nails done too. (Okay, shush Marilyn, I know you can do them - but it was 2 extra dollars and I'm glad I did it - just read the rest of the story)
Meanwhile, Dave went next door to the video game shop and picked up "The Movies" (it's a game). When I was done he suggested we go out to dinner at this Italian place over on 21st that he'd been to with his family. He thought I'd like it, and, it's someplace we haven't been. So, I said yes, suspecting nothing.
However, my mother had called and she wanted us to come buy to pick up some laundry and the key to the beach house (we're going down to the cabin this weekend) so we droppped by and did that first.
Dinner was at Serranto. So good. I highly reccomend it. We both had one of their pasta dishes (hand made, in house) and it was yummy! Then, for desert we split a mountain of carrot cake. No rasins in it, but appricots instead - which turned out to be seriously yummy.
Then we started home. On the way though, Diane called - and the silly woman tipped me off. "Anything interesting happen tonight?" She asked "Uhm, no..." I answer, but I have an idea now that something might! She asked to be passed to Dave, and he covers mightily - snapping at her about the beach trip this weekend etc.
We got home, and Dave (looking for an excuse to go into the garden) notices that one of my tomato plants has fallen over. The wire stand that holds it up has pulled out on one side. So, I put my shoes back on and go out to fix it.
Tomato plant restored to it's previous glory... he proposed. The ring is beautiful. Three U-shaped swooshes on the sides form a laticework looking design around three diamonds. If you know me in person you'll see it :)
If you don't... it's sad to be you.
So, now it's official. We're engaged. I have a sparkly, gorgous ring, on newly manicured nails. I have newly pedicured feet, have eaten very well, and did I mention the sparkly gorgous ring?
For Dave's side of the story... go read his LJ :)
