A large party trekking through the desert would be cumbersome; I am an accomplished mage, and I am quite capable of shouldering my own supplies easily. There are no reported natural dangers, such as wild beasts or environmental disasters. We have no method to combat our captors in the case of a confrontation with the Malnosso, so it is doubtful that ten or even twenty would make a substantial difference.
