Ok, so I know Megacon was practically forever ago in convention time, but I finally got around to making this post. My crew (or a fraction of them rather) and I attended Megacon '10. It was our first time cosplaying seriously cosplaying our steampunk personas and I think for a first go around the costumes turned out wonderfully, but enough chatter, I'm sure you would all
This is our little group, I'm the one on the left.
l to r: Elisabet McDowell, the ships medic. Kaeden Einbinder, first mate. and Sophie, the ships cook.
Portrait of a Happy Couple (I guess I forgot to mention that the girl on the right is my girlfriend :3 )
Say it with me... "D'AWWWWW"
Individual shots:
Kaeden-
Costume details: Mini top hat-made by wearer, the flower piece is actually her corsage from our prom, which she also made herself.
Shirt: joyfully found at Bealles Outlet 3 days before the con, it's the same exact shirt she's been drawing on Kaeden for about the past 6 months...so imagine our surprise when it was just hanging there at the outlet. :D
Waist cincher: also made by wearer. out of black jeans believe it or not...
Skirt: thrifted from goodwill
Petticoat: from Hot Topic...before we found out that they stole someones top hat design...>_>
Boots: Goodwill
Lace gloves: from Con the year before.
Travel case:Goodwill
Sophie:
Costume details: bodice-Pyramid Collection outlet
Skirt and shirt- I'm assuming are thrifted/had.
Boots-Target
We're working on making her an arm brace with measuring cups and a cheese grater on it. (Every good chef has one!!)
Elisabet:
Costume details: Bowler-clockwork couture
Shirt, Jacket, Medic bag & cane- Goodwill
Breeches-Charlotte Rousse clearance
Knee brace-walgreens generic knee brace as base with assorted bits and bobs to create the faux hardware, found the temperature gauge at goodwill, and LOTS AND LOTS of metallic craft paint...
Spats-made from scratch with the help of Kaeden, I know they're not very well made, but we threw them together last minute...rather successful for the very first time making them I guess..
Shoes-Walmart
Broach-made it myself, gears, flower, and wire from Micheals
Monocle-(was attached to the broach, sadly forgot it was there and to get photos of it) from an etsy shop called vaartsupplies
Lighted Ear piece-found that at a booth at the very beginning of the con, was too precious not to get :3
Woo. Hope that wasn't too many photos for everyone...
Anyway, the crew had a fantastic time at Megacon, met some awesome steampunks there (Outland
Armory and several others). Thanks for checking out the photos, hope you enjoyed them! If you did spot any one of my group at Megacon, feel free to say hi!!!
