Why can't you just behave? Nerdbros do not get a pass on harassment and coercion!
And now I'm grumpy for the selfish reason that I loved "Dead Boy Detectives" and was really looking forward to season 2! Ugh.
In actual "me" news, we had another heat wave here last week. It was supposed to go over 100 for just a couple of days, and instead wound up being 99+ for a whole week. Suckage. On 97o and below days, I can usually finagle biking outside by going earlier and looping around in the shadier areas. But 98 and up, forget it. :(
That means I cycled through some more streaming shows on Netflix:
The Gentlemen - a young man inherits his Duke father's estate and secret side-business in marijuana cultivation. I liked the leads, and the series was entertaining. BUT... there were insufficient amounts of Giancarlo Esposito vs. the advertised implications.
Florida Man - a former cop working off gambling debts is sent on business to Florida, his home state and the place he's been avoiding for years. The lead is charismatic, there's bonus Anthony LaPaglia, and the series has several fun nods to outrageous "Florida Man" stories. \o/
A Nearly Normal Family - Family drama and crime mystery in Sweden. I liked it.
I started The Tourist, but it's too laconic for watching while biking in the garage, so maybe HalfshellHusband and I will watch at night? I'm trying out Undercover instead. It's in Dutch, French, and English. I initially misread the 3rd language as German instead of French, and had been trying to figure out why some of the German was so aspirate and garbled, but it turns out that's just vocabulary overlap in the Dutch.
We watched The Good Girl's Guide to Murder (loved it), and Monsieur Spade has been promising. We also started The Woman In The House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window, but may bail on it. The plot included something for shock value that is just too far over the line.
I've also been busy with work, the house rebuild (looking at floors and bathroom vanities, yay), and of course, writing for Idol. I'm hoping to survive another week there. I encourage all of you to please read the entries and vote! We really need more votes from outside the community, to help avoid multi-author write-offs! My story is here with a link to the poll at the bottom, so please take a look if you can. It's at Dreamwidth, but anyone can read and vote with Open ID.
Oops-- it's heating up, so I need to get ready to go biking. TTFN!
