Soon, soon...

Our daughter comes home Saturday for Spring Break, so I'm looking forward to that. We'll have about 5 days total before she flies to visit a friend in D.C. for the remainder of the week, as she did last year (the extra leg in the trip was her Christmas present). At this point, I'm lucky to have 5 days off in a row-including the weekend ones! Gah. ( Read more... )

I understand the love of good guacamole, but I can't afford to chase around after the stuff the way our daughter does. Calories bounce off of her, unlike normal human beings. ;)

I have TurboTax, but the process usually takes several weekends-- there's the inevitable pause after I figure out what some new request is and have to dig up the paperwork (or get a copy from somewhere). So tedious...

I almost abandoned The Walking Dead because of the Negan plot-line. I don't read the comics so I had no idea who he was or what he was capable of, but seeing it played out on TV made for some of the most unpleasant moments I've ever watched on television.

I have a weird phobia when it comes to avocados and guacamole. I don't want either one of them anywhere near me or my food. I can't explain it, I just know that I don't like them :)

In my world, there is no such thing as too much chocolate :D

The Negan thing entered the realm of what I consider R-rated violence, which is pretty much unwatchable for me. PG-13 is about my maximum tolerance, it and it was so senseless and cruel. Just awful.

I don't really like avocados, but I love guacamole. Our daughter likes both, but avocados are SO bland to me. Add some lemon and garlic, and they're entirely different.

There's never more chocolate than I want to eat, but there's a lot more than I SHOULD eat. :O

I'm glad you're plugging away at it still! Hoping it doesn't last too much longer, but it will be worth it when you're done. :)

I am amazed that I am still on track with my Goodread's Around the Year in 52 Books, although I am reading virtually no fanfic now. It seems like I can manage one or the other, but not both. At least not now, during the busiest time of the year for me.

Vinegar Girl is one I will be reading soon, so I am glad to hear you liked it. I just finished Armada by Ernest Cline, which I don't recommend, but am currently reading 4 3 2 1 by Paul Auster, which is absolutely brilliant.

Ooh, I looked up 4 3 2 1 -- that sounds interesting!

I'm lucky to get book reading in around Idol (both the reading AND writing take up a lot of time), but I think I'm at 17 books so far, so right on track. Plus... I went to the library yesterday, and brought about 7 potential reads for me plus others for my son. A fresh pile of potential fun!

Which is good, because the thing I'm reading on the Kindle right now ("Never Let Me Go")? I'm still waiting for some sense of what the heck the present is supposed to be about, after tons of flashback about the characters' upbringings and the hint of something sinister. I must be at least 13-15 chapters in now, and... still no concrete idea what the novel's concept of present-day "reality" is, just that it isn't the same as ours. \o?
