He has such a huge tolerance for pain, and he's very stoic. So, what he's going through now is really bad. Basically, chronic pain until the new hip is in, and the pain killers aren't doing much of anything for him. Maybe because the joint has no cartilage, on top of the arthritis itself.

Our daughter already revised her plan to moving out on Friday again, once the announcement came down that the campus will be flooded with people arriving for graduation on Saturday. As in, be out or you'll be sorry! Which certainly works out better for me. ;)

The audio problem, though... not solved. I spent more than two hours last weekend downloading iTunes and trying to figure that out so I could update my podfics, if nothing else. It turns out that this version of iTunes doesn't seem to let you edit or update anything (in which case, WHY would I ever buy new songs from it?). I uninstalled it, but now can't install an earlier version that has actual features.

This seriously makes me wish I had not given away my old walkman! I may be bringing a mini boom-box along, just in case...

Walkman makes surprisingly good mp3 players. You just drag and drop your mp3s into the music file--no irritating iCrap involved.

Hooray for new hip! :) Boo for long recovery times. :(

I bought an MP3 player (someone's) for HSH a couple of Christmases ago. I may need to borrow it for this trip, because damn.
