There's a song called You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive. Maybe you could get title inspiration from that?

This is by far my favorite version. Haunting and rich. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Su06XlGI-w8&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I'm afraid that someone else is also writing Justified & Zombies for the same Big Bang, and AFAIK, that's the title she's going with.

Great minds think alike! But they beat me to it.

Thanks for the suggestiong-- and the link, because I can enjoy the song even if I don't use the title. :)

Haha! This is the kind of unhelpful suggestion my husband always gives.

Though not that particular one, so you've made your unique mark!

I wound up with something modified from the song lyrics tidal_race mentioned, but I appreciate the suggestion!

I'm kind of titled-out, at this point. Too many drabbles and stories!

I am apparently all about the songs tonight. There are some lyrics in here I think could offer up a title. The whole album is pretty much about coal mine country. lyricstime.com/kathy-mattea-dark-as-a-dungeon-lyrics.html

Something along the lines of "Blood runs as black as the coal" is looking very promising right now.

Thanks so much! *hugs*

You're welcome. :) I'm not from coal mining stock as far as I know, but this style of singing and subject gives me chills/fills me with a heavy sense of history. Kathy Mattea said that she really wanted to do an album like this(she's from West Virginia), but it took her awhile to learn to sing these songs properly. There's a performance she does of one of them a capella that is absolutely mind blowing. I'll link if I can find it.

I would, if I knew anything about the show. Good luck.

It's done, thank goodness. It was quite a race to the finish yesterday!

I haven't read it, but it looks very fancy with its pretty cover image. :)

It's the first time I've done one of the Big Bangs-- the art you get is just wonderful!

Though really, the 5K minimum was the only thing that made this doable, and most Big Bangs are 20-25K. Better appreciate my one chance at this! :0
