Sam and Dean have been driving all day long. Now they're far between towns in some endless nowhere desert, on an unlit highway. Both are struggling to stay awake.
Dean turns off at a side road, pulls onto the shoulder a mile later. "Here?"
Sam nods, and Dean lays their sleeping bags out on the ground. Then the two of them settle down to sleep under the enormous canopy of sky.
"Look at all the stars," Sam whispers.
Dean watches them slowly blur before his tired eyes. They glitter in his memory like distant ghosts as he finally falls asleep.
