Thank you! It seemed like it would be fun to do a very literal interpretation of the prompt, but use it for something good instead of bad.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Using classic quotes for good and not evil-- who could resist?

Thank you! Finally, a chance for a Brutus to do the right thing instead of betrayal!

i went from "ooh, julius caesar fanfic!" to "julius caesar au!" to "OH MY GOD THIS IS SO SWEET I CANNOT HANDLE IT". so two thumbs up for tweaking all my expectations. also, it's very, very cute, and in not a lot of words gives us good information about the kind of person brutus is and also the kind of person jeff is. (and also a bit about brutus' dad!) well done. :D

Haha! I wanted the beginning to seem as if it could be a retelling of Julius Caesar, and then just as easily be a big moment in a completely different setting.

This was also a lot of fun to write, in showing both main characters by implication and then some of Brutus' dad (whom you sense is probably intimidating in some way, even if it's just out of awkward silences whenever he's around).

I'm so glad you liked it, and you got absolutely everything out of I that I put into it! Yay!
