Thank you so much for the lovely and sparky birthday banner! And for the v-gift balloons. :)

Yes, it was a lovely day. ♥

and yet, for the sheer jaw-dropping glory of the colours, it's the most beautiful season?
I often think so. Even though Winter's coming, Autumn itself is so beautiful and somehow wistful. And I tried to capture some of its splendor and allure here.

Okay, this must mean I am extraordinarily twisted but I don't care!
Not at all-- it's schmoopiness, regardless of how they get there, and it's supposed to make the reader just as happy!

And I loved the optimism in it before their lives were turned upside down!
I never expected to form another fic 'Universe' for Prison Break, but I really like this one because it's in the in-between where they're happy and they have no idea what's coming. The reader knows (so it's a little bittersweet), but the for the characters it's a very hopeful and happy time.

So glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for your thoughtful and sweet comments!

It was my pleasure, sweetheart. You still help to keep the Prison Break fandom alive and that's worth it's weight in gold. :) I am very happy to hear it was a lovely day for you, too. :)

I love this 'in-between' Universe and I'll push what I know is to come to the back of my mind and just enjoy the sweetness of the brothers' present. :)

Thank you!

*hugs*

Yes! Denial! :D

I should totally find a headspace like this for Supernatural, because I'm having problems there of where canon has forced things (into the ultimate unhappiness). This PB universe is pre-series, which helps, and the Paradise universe is AU (far more than I ever expected). Ultimately, I'm still really glad I never watched S4. The return of dead characters and the endless spin on prior characters (Mom) just makes me insane. :0

It was the Autumn setting that took so long. That was your prompt, and definitely what I wanted to write, but it took awhile to make it work in a PB setting. But yayyyyy! I'm so glad you liked it!

I like the line you pointed out as well, because I thought about how Lincoln might feel in that situation. He's been out of prison for a little while, but that's in Chicago where all the tall buildings crowd in on you and the streets are busy and psychologically hem you in. That sudden wide, open prairie might just be overwhelming and amazing after all of that!

Many happy (and late) returns to you! ♥

This is delightful, both the evocation of the Autumn - and I love Autumn - and the relationship between the two of them, with their complicity and teasing.

On a culinary side note, I had never heard of hot cider but apparently, it does exist here too ^__^ Will have to try it.

Thanks for a lovely ficlet.

Thank you! I love Autumn too- it's my birthday season and Halloween season, even though it rarely feels like we're IN that season where I live now. Which just makes me all the more nostalgic for the crisp, slightly smoky air and the beautiful colors.

Ours is just the juice of pressed apples when we say 'cider.' In some parts of Britain it's a type of alcohol, but not here (and I can't imagine that hard cider would taste very good hot!) The true apple concoction is really nice heated, with a cinnamon stick for added flavor. Very seasonal!

the beautiful colors
*nods* people can say what they want about Spring, nothing beats Autumn, especially colors-wise.

I googled it after reading the fic and found recipes with 'our' cider, which contains alcohol although not a lot. Basically: hard cider, vanilla, cinnamon, honey, orange and a mixture of spices. Quite autumn-y or winter-y ^_^

That sounds delicious, actually!

Ours is just pressed apples, and the really good stuff (my daughter is hoarding some right now, like I hoard my Gravenstein apples) is just the pressed juice of a variety of apples-- no preservatives, no refining, nothing. The usual store apple juice is a clear liquid with a fair amount of sugar and probably some artificial taste. :0

Such a beautiful fic! Very quiet and peaceful and very fall. You always paint a beautiful picture and the romance between the bros was just lovely!

Excellent!

This is cute, how indulgent Lincoln is, and how well he knows Michael. It's also kind of hot that he knew how Michael felt long before Michael told him, just from the "nake need" on his face-and maybe he even knew before Michael did, eh?

One of the things I enjoyed about the show was that Michael would plan these endless schemes and get all clever and sneaky, but when his guard was down he was absolutely transparent. I think Lincoln would know that side of him incredibly well, both the pumpkins Michael always buys without even realizing that he's so predictable, and the intense longing for Lincoln that he never would have hidden half as well as he thought.
