So, I upgraded to I.E. 8 yesterday. I lost both LJ posting/editing AND YouTube this week (their patience with I.E. 6 apparently expired), and my trial run of Firefox months ago was less than impressive. So far so good, though I hate the font I'm seeing onscreen now.
At least the posting functionality for LJ is back. My Navigator links are still messed up, though, which I think is LJ itself. Why revolutionize the interface only to remove the ability to go directly to your Friends' Page or Profile? I have to get there via my own Journal links now, though I can easily view Friends-of-Friends from the Navigation bar. Just not my Friends. D.u.m.b.
Lauren's team lost their championship game Monday, though they all enjoyed playing. They've beat that team all but once, but the other girls came prepared to fight for that game. That's the thing a lot of kids (heck, adults) don't seem to understand-sometimes, effort totally trumps "talent."
In other news, I went biking in a windstorm yesterday. The original forecast was for max 15mph winds (which is challenging), but pretty soon it was "winds increasing to 30mph over the afternoon." (!!) I went out pronto, to try to finish before things got really bad, but it was too late. The sidewinds were scary, and the headwind pushed me down to about 8-9mph. Wow-19mph winds by the time I got back, with gusts up to 28. On work-at-home days, that's sufficient grief to bike in the garage. :0
ETA: Today's ride feature sunbaked eucalyptus trees (Mmmmm), a cottontailed bunny disappearing into a bush, and the return of my evil nemesis (the common ground squirrel).
why lj- why?,
