Warm grass beneath Dean's back, the world is river-bright and huckleberry-bush high, cloud fingers stretching through the blue while Sam marks Dean with his mouth and the sound of his own name.
Strong and tan, Sam glows with the heat of the sun, his skin brushing against Dean and blanketing him as the breeze from the rushing water flows past.
This space is open, private, and remote. Roads cannot find it.
"Dean," Sam whispers-shaking, urgent-and Dean lets go of everything but the shape of Sam against him, knowing he can always find his way back from the sky.
