Oh, I'm so happy to hear that. Tattoos aren't my thing at all, so I went to the canon tattoo that would have been removed in that S4 "rebirthing," but what a nice setup for Sam to acquaint himself with the new Dean. Not to mention that Castiel removed one "imperfection" too many.

I do love the tattoo and it's a great drabble idea...but Cas didn't remove the protection tattoo :( You can see that Dean still has it when he lifts up his shirt in the ep.

S'ok ;) I had a big discussion about it when it aired trying to figure out why (since tattoos are scars) Cas didn't remove it, too. But since it's a protection symbol, it would seem likely that the angels would want Dean protected from any evil influence.

I was probably distracted by naked!Dean!stomach, and assumed Dean was just boggling over his amazingly not-dead body. I didn't see the tattoo.

It's definitely an important thing for both boys to have! Now, why didn't Castiel clean up that glaring handprint afterwards? Talk about scars...

Probably wanted to leave it as a reminder for Dean to be more grateful. Or as it turns out, grateful at all, which was probably kind of frustrating. ;)
