Lovely as usual...sad and lonely too.

It IS lonely, you're right. All this sneaking around (from the world, from their 'other' lives) while just needing each other so desperately... what an impossible position to be in.

Thanks for reading!

I really enjoyed this. I loved the yearny and desperate feel you created in "Icicle Palace" and I love it here too. Thank you for a lovely drabble.

There's always the question of whether you'll undermine a favorite longer story or enhance the mood it created, and I hope this did the latter.

This is like a slice of that impossible, intertwined life from "Icicle Palace," where it can never be enough and yet they can't give up any part of what they have. Still drawn back together, again and again, no matter how difficult or desperate it becomes...

Is it me, or does this fic have sad and lonely mixed in with the hot and sexy? It feels so right, and yet it's so hard for the both of them.
Yu got the emotions in this down perfectly. And, as usual, as always, as FOREVER!, I'm saving.
*hugs*

It's not just you-- that's very much a part of the other story ( Icicle Palace) that drives the mood of this interlude. There's so much need and desperation and such a feeling of hopelessness in the original, and I'd hoped to carry that over here. It's all about something you just have to have, even when you can never really have all of it.

I'm so glad you liked this snippet (it's thrilling to get someone hooked on another pairing!), and I think you'd like the original too. :)

Thanks for leading me to this fic in your other comment. I had bookmarked it already (I am so behind with reading... sigh).

This line is my favourite: "Then they settle their kisses, their clothes, their secrets and step outside like ordinary men."

Ah damn, I think I could quote the whole thing because you are great at choosing the right words! They are so desperate, take what they can get, and it's sad because it'S not permanent. I want to hug them now!!!

:D That was my favorite line as well, for the affection in it transitioning to the practical and the preparation to hide everything from the world all over again.

and it's sad because it'S not permanent.
All their other obligations pull them in different directions, and it's as if they imagine they'll get past this someday and then lose out to that need again and again.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this! And what a great challenge this was-- I wrote a Michael/Sucre too, and I have a Lincoln/Veronica that I'm still finishing. Really good word length for getting just enough plot/background in. :)
