Update on the Title Game: Stories I Never Wrote You

Feb 24, 2006 23:25

clex_monkie89 totally encouraged this. *Points fingers*.

My f-list really came through for me on providing titles for “Stories I Never Wrote You.” I got 26 37 titles, which produced everything from poetic lyricism to angst to crackFic! This also resulted in a poll of which of these to expand into longer stories. Three from the PB list and three from the SN ( Read more... )

Yay! Now go write the story for 1001 Ways To Piss Off A Death Row Inmate (Or: Five Ways T-Bag Didn't Almost Die).

Grin, you should do like a monster poll about which one of these you should actually write :)

Nimrod's Son

Supernatural, Dean's POV, Gen: He was a hunter like his father before him, cleaving a path between Evil and Good. He abided by his father's laws, those edicts for protecting the Innocent and damning the Destroyers. The mythology behind his motives was large and complex, a Tower of Babel built on Demons and Spirits and Revenge. He was brave and strong, every bit his father's son. If that tower ever crumbled, it would crush him in its fall.

As you can see, I uh... decided to go with the literal meaning of Nimrod-- which makes a great Meta although isn't a very nice-sounding word. Thank you, wikipedia.

Actually, that's totally what I was going for. I actually pasted the link for Wikipedia in, and a link to the Pixies lyrics (they did a song called that - http://www.seeklyrics.com/lyrics/PIXIES/Nimrod-s-Son.html) before I decided maybe I was being a bit obsessive, and figured I'd leave it to you ( ... )

You're welcome :)

And I'm glad that, serendipitously, it was exactly what you were going for. After I looked up the wikipedia reference, I kind of suspected that it was, for obvious reasons...

How did you come to visit? And have you taken my poll? It's for the items in this post. Might as well cast your vote :D

i thought of this last night. you can totally disregard it xD

Mr. Yellow Peanut M&M's Butt
supernatural, Gen: what happens when Mr. Yellow gets mad at Dean for eating all his kids? He threatens to SQUASH Dean. What's worse? Sam won't believe Dean.

i know i know... this is the most retarded storyline ever, but i have too many SPN topics in my head. this one i had to hand off to someone =]

The updates are beautiful and scary all at once. I really love the little snowmen targets and Marilyn getting her revenge and Unbreakable and the ghost one.

In short? These all rock and you need to keep writing more.

So cute, and the Pow! And that is just so Dean....

Marilyn getting her revenge
mooyoo might have been aiming for Supernatural there, but I'd just finished beta'ing jewels667's "Losing Norma Jean," and I had Marilyn and Westmoreland on my mind. And she came out victorious this time, too. :)

It's bizarre how much fun these are... and getting two good real stories out of them already is a big bonus in itself :D

It very much is on both counts.

And it was very fitting too. Sometimes you just gotta go where the title takes you.

I know! When I did mine I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to come up with anything and instead they were easy!
