1.) Yes, we celebrate in the evening on the 24th :) Bacon day is just a tradition specific to our family ;)

2.) I was so gonna comment that you called it "pointless smut". Pointless ?!?!? Like smut is ever pointless ;p

3.) Yes, yuletide is still plenty of new to me too. :) From what I understand you can write fics and ficlets for pretty much any person even without receiving the offcial ok. I kinda wish they would make the requests public earlier. Because I just suck at writing things quickly. I mean, I did write most of my fic in panic within a day, but it took several weeks of mental preparation to get to the point of panic writing ;D

But I guess it makes sense that they don't give out the other prompts earlier. It's probably so people will be more likely to take pinch hits if they aren't distracted by all the other shiny. I saw you were quite inspiring and inspired no less than three stories :)

I'm still in awe over the whole thing. 1600 participants. Over 2000 stories. About 200 pinch hits. Next to no person with no story at all... It's impressive.

So that's how it works! I didn't realize that you could go shopping around for inspiration among other people's prompts, and this year was just awful in terms of getting anything done before Xmas, so earlier posting would have helped if you could go down to the 25th to create extra presents.

I haven't gotten a single Xmas card out yet, though several are now ready to go. I'd intended to do my overseas/online people first! Way in advance! And then while up in Oregon. And finally... I wrote them yesterday. :(

I've been behind from the beginning for Christmas this year, and it's been frustrating.

And as for this particular story, well, there was no point to it other than an excuse for smut. ;) Which I normally only do in the slash sense, and not enough of that lately! But my porn in general usually tends to be a little plotty, and this definitely wasn't. :D

I hope overall the yuletide experience wasn't too bad for you and that you at least got one or the other story you liked in the fandoms you picked out of it.

For me, I like some really obscure fandoms where I wouldn't even know where to find other people and so I would have liked to browse other people who requested it and maybe write something or them. But just one day before was just too early especially since for us the 24th is really the main day.
