Yesterday was awfully disappointing, on a number of fannish levels. *sighs* I'm trying to move on, but it's going to take awhile.

The LOLcats were a big help (thank goodness for those feeds into LJ!) I could summarize a lot of them as, "How did you get yourself in there?" It's always the 'how,' because with cats there's no point in wondering 'why

I loved The Tick! I don't see why they changed American Maid's name, though...and "Bat Manuel" always makes me laugh. It was a fun show that should have gotten more appreciation than it did. I've always wondered what might have happened if it had been on Fox during its peak experimental years, back when they gave odd shows a chance to try and gain an audience before they cut them off after a few episodes, you know?

I don't see why they changed American Maid's name, though.
She seemed to be a licensed character that they didn't have permission to use, so they changed the name.

And "Bat Manuel"-- nobody every forgets him!

This could be said of SO much television. I ache for those quirky shows that got nipped "in the bud" because of the impatience of attracting an audience.

And when you mix that with the behavior of "jerk the show around and change its day and time all season long, oh hey, nobody's watching this-- let's cancel it", a person could easily be driven nuts!

:D Well, I'll be writing the Prison Break stuff as long as I can but I don't think I can stand to watch anymore. Last night was just awful, and I was even prepared for somewhat-awful.

The other thing you can email me about offline. I won't be leaving any fandoms over it, but it was kind of unexpectedly heartbreaking.
