Yes, wild pokémon will normally attack you on their own if your not acting like a flailing headless chicken.

Its taking too long with your method. The only way I see that working is if you piss them off enough to attack.

Most of these pokémon are territorial and will attack anyone that enters their territory. Some will just stick to you cause your interesting to them but those are rare.

Nothing will want to get near if you keep acting like that.
