Two things

Feb 24, 2008 21:58

1 . First time being tipsy for a performance. ...Possibly first time being tipsy? ...No, second. Good follow-up to unexpected in-depth intellectual pre-show dressing room discussion. (Existential to boot!) Though not something I intended or plan to repeat. (The tipsiness, not the discussing. Happily having more engaged conversations lately.) Bottom ( Read more... )

:-D

The producer for the showcase told me to submit myself for this radio thing, which I did, and the submission included a CD, which was six tracks I selected off my solo show. From that, they accepted me and chose which song I should sing (it was one of the ones off the CD). The 2 in the morning thing was a little nerve-wracking, but I've secured an accompanist who's not only willing to be there at that ungodly hour, and a fantastic pianist and great guy I enjoy working with, but so ripped as to be a suitable bodyguard. So that works out. ;-)

::blush::

I look forward to reclaiming my upper registers this week. It's great that I can belt safely/comfortably, but too much of it makes my legit placement evaporate.

::happy jitters:: See my response to magistar.

Have I mentioned in the last two minutes how happy and grateful and touched I am you're planning to be there? A number of my friends can't make it (kind of legitimately... I mean, e.g., Jonathan can't come in the middle of the week from 7 hours away with midterms the day before and after) so your being there is very anchoring. ...Not to mention how it never even seems like a question with you... anyway, I keep saying this, but it's 'cause I never feel like I adequately demonstrate how much it means to me.

Honey... I've known you for as long as I can remember. I see the passion with which you attack this seemingly insurmountable hurdle and I want to do all I can to help you do what you want to do. Maybe it's because I can't do it myself, but I want to see you succeed. You're my sister... hell, I like you MORE than my sister. We're family. I'm always here for you.
