Oh man, it flooded over last night! I stayed up so late just to read updates... in summary:
Someone pulled a post that Jay made on MySpace about 4 years ago when he first went to Korea for training. He wrote about how he hated Korea, that it was "gay" and that he wanted to go back home. Honestly? He was 17 or 18 back then, a teenage boy who was all by himself in a country where he didn't know the language and I'm sure wasn't very welcomed.
Netizens went on a rampage, sending him hate messages, telling him to leave the group, leave the country, created a petition for him to commit suicide.
He released an official public apology for what he said. Again, that stuff was said 4 YEARS AGO. And he still has to apologize for it! DX
When fellow 2PM members stood up for him (posts on Cyworld and such), they started verbally attacking them, too.
JYPEnt made an announcement that he was staying in 2PM, that it wasn't right for him to have to give up his dreams for a mistake he did so long ago.
Seemed to have calmed down...
THEN JAEBEOM ANNOUNCED HE WAS LEAVING 2PM. JYPEnt confirmed, and literally by the end of the day he was on a plane back to Seattle. 1,000s of fans showed up at the airport to try to keep him from leaving... he kept his head low and kept apologizing.
Netizens were actually shocked, and didn't realize he would leave. (HELLO. YOU TOLD HIM TO KILL HIMSELF.)
*NOW* Netizens are revealing messages that Jaebeom posted circa 2006 where he says he's happier, is not ashamed of his race, and loves Korea.
The person who originally revealed the MySpace post to a journalist is regretting her actions and is asking for forgiveness.
And that pretty much sums it up. It's crazy and I feel terrible for him, but I wouldn't want him to stay in Korea anymore to endure all of the hatred. Hope he gets to rest well at home w/ family and friends ... ♥
